Text Messaging Program

ParPulse (parpulse.golf) · Doughty LLC · League invitations & league attendance

ParPulse runs two text programs, both small and both asked for: invitations, requested by an existing member for a specific friend, and league attendance, where a member who has verified their own mobile number is asked whether they're playing their league night. There are no marketing texts of any kind, and nobody is ever added to either program by anyone but themselves or the friend inviting them. Because both programs sit behind a member login, this page shows publicly how each opt-in works and exactly what the messages look like.

Program 1 — Invitations

How a text gets sent

  • A signed-in member opens Invite a Friend at parpulse.golf/invite-friends.
  • They enter their friend's name and mobile number into the web form below and tap Send link, confirming their friend knows them and is expecting the text.
  • We send that friend a text with a personal link to create an account. If the invite goes unclaimed, up to four reminders follow over the next week — then we're done with the number for good.

The invite form

As it appears to signed-in members:

Which league are they joining?
Sunday Morning Skins ▾
Who's it for? (optional)
Tiger Woods
Phone (optional)
555-123-4567
Send link
One link — a text now, and a few reminder nudges if they don't sign up, stopping the moment they do or the link dies. By entering their number you confirm they're expecting it. Msg & data rates may apply; reply STOP to opt out.

Preview only — sending an invite requires a ParPulse account.

The messages they receive

The invite:

"Mike Johnson invited you to join Sunday Morning Skins on ParPulse. Tap to set up your account: https://parpulse.golf/invite/a1b2c3d4 Reply STOP to opt out."

If it goes unclaimed, a reminder the next day:

"Mike Johnson is still holding your spot in Sunday Morning Skins on ParPulse. Tap to set up your account: https://parpulse.golf/invite/a1b2c3d4 Reply STOP to opt out."

And up to three more over the week:

"Heads up — your invite in Sunday Morning Skins on ParPulse expires soon. Tap to set up your account: https://parpulse.golf/invite/a1b2c3d4 Reply STOP to opt out."

Program terms

  • Message frequency: one invite message, plus up to four reminders over the following week if the invite isn't accepted. Messaging ends with the invite — recipients are not enrolled in recurring messaging.
  • Limited retention: invite numbers are stored encrypted, used only for the invite and its reminders, and deleted as soon as the invite is accepted, expires, is revoked, or finishes its reminders. They are never reused or added to any list.

Program 2 — League attendance

A weekly league plays the same night every week, and it can't settle up until it knows who showed. Rather than a group chat nobody reads, ParPulse asks each member directly — and a member who wants that question by text says so by verifying their own number.

How you opt in

  • A signed-in member opens Settings → Phone & texts and enters their own mobile number.
  • We text a six-digit code to that number. They type it back into the app.
  • That round trip is the opt-in. Verifying the number — proving you hold the phone — is what enrolls you, and the page says so plainly before you start. Nobody else can enroll a number, and a number that was never verified is never texted.
  • The same page carries a switch to pause league texts and a button to delete the number outright, and either takes effect immediately.

The messages you receive

The verification code, once, when you ask for it:

"482913 is your ParPulse verification code. It expires in 10 minutes. Reply STOP to opt out."

Then, before each league night — once, or as a short ladder of up to three reminders if your league's admin set one up, and only until you answer:

"Are you playing Thu Oct 12 at Pebble Creek with Thursday Night Skins? Tap to confirm: https://parpulse.golf/a/41/7/in?… or reply IN or OUT. Reply STOP to opt out."

And a short confirmation when you answer:

"You're in — Thu Oct 12. Reply OUT if that changes."

Program terms

  • Message frequency: up to three attendance questions per league per week — your league's admin picks how many reminders go out and when — plus a one-message confirmation when you reply. Every reminder stops at your answer: reply once and the rest of that week's ladder skips you. A member in two weekly leagues could therefore see up to six questions in a week. There are no other messages in this program.
  • Opt out: reply STOP to any text, or switch league texts off in Settings → Phone & texts. Either one stops the messages; STOP also tells your carrier to block us.
  • Limited retention: your number is stored encrypted and used only for this program. Removing it in Settings deletes it, along with the verification record, immediately and permanently. Deleting your account does the same.

Terms that apply to both programs

  • Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
  • Opt out: reply STOP to any text from us and you won't receive another. Reply HELP, or email tanner@doughtyinc.com, for help.
  • No sharing: we do not share, sell, rent, or trade your mobile phone number, mobile information, or SMS opt-in and consent data with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, excluding Twilio, our text messaging provider, solely as needed to deliver the message.
  • No marketing: neither program is ever used to advertise anything. Every message either delivers an invite somebody asked for or asks a member whether they're playing.
  • Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
